The last day

Today was the last day of visitting Michigan University Hospital.

And we have no major operations.

I said good bye to my colleagues and left .

This visitting has been very valuable for me.

I have learned many things that I never learn in Japan.

I miss working with them but I never forget this experiences and make them usufull for my rutine works in Japan.

Heavy snow storm

I had a very heavy snow storm on Friday . So I couldn't go to hospital.
Today it was sunny day and we drove to downtown for shopping.
I baught some texts for studying the idioms and English grammer.
They looks good for me to improve my English.
I will do them as much as possible .

Butoh

I went to see the "Buto" tonight.
Butoh is a radical, often controversial, avant-garde dance movement that began in Japan in 1959.
Dairakudakanhttp://www.dairakudakan.com/rakudaindex.html
is the oldest surviving and largest butoh company in existence.
The name of the repartoie is "Manna" which is the second collaboration between Kumotaro Mukai and Eric Santos.

Kumotaro Mukai is a principal dancer in Dairakudakan, and has performed extensively throughout Asia, Europe, North America and Middle East. Prior to joining the groupe in 1994, he was a atudent of martial in Osaka, Japan. He received the Dance Critics Society of Japan Rookie Award in 2005.

Tonight's perfomance was co-sponsored by The Centor for World Performance Studies and The Centor for Japanese Studies, University of Michigan.

I couldn't understand the world and have no words to express the inpression.

Thanksgiving

Today is the Thanksgiving day but I have nothing to do.

I have no transport device so I cannot go any far away.

It is boring to lounge at home.

The conversation partner

I got a convesation patner of English.

She is a 1st year student of UM and is learning Japanese in her class.

So she can help me with English and I can help her with her Japanese.

Her parents are also medical physicians. Her father is a pulmologist and mother is a familial medicine physician.



Despite she is learning Japanese only 3 months, I think, she speaks Japanese well. I'm very surprised. She is a very exellent student.



I thought that the students in America are highly motivated.

Road surface freezing

Today it was 25degree F in the morning.
The road surface freezed.
I almost slipped and fell.

Snowy world

It has been snowing since yesterday.

My friend were going to go to the stadium for the football game but he passed on because of heavy snow.

The snow lies thick on the ground and it looks like the snowy world all over the area.

the bus

Recently , I take commuter bus.

It is free if I show a "M card" to the driver.

It bring me to the hospital so it is very convenient.

But the last bus is 5:42 p.m.

It is lump in the pudding.

Have a runny nose

I have a runny nose today. I feel so bad.

I think I am on the verge of having a cold.

I will make me warm and feel relaxed and take some medicine.

I hope it will soon be better.

Snowing

It is snowing today for the first time since I have come to Michigan.

It is very cold tonight.

In case the road is frozen tommorow morning, I should walk to the hospital or take the bus.

As the exercise, I have better walk I think.

YMCA

I became a member of YMCA , a sports club.

So I could have excercise any time I want to.

Though , I like running and muscle training I have no time to continue them in Japan.

Tiking this opptunity, I will have them as much as possible.

Lethargy

I have fatigue today.

And I was very sleepy during daytime.

What's wrong with me? I'm not sure.

I should be slightly tired of this life in America.

Though I have very happy days, all the same, stress of a new environment give me fatigue.



I hope the things will be getting better soon.

Obama sweeped the election

Obama won the presidential election.

And the U.S. have gotten a black president for the first time since the birth of the nation.

This is hisitoric and joyous election.

I hope he will achieve his job being expected.

The presidential election

A presidential election had taken place today herein America.

I get the impression that Japanese media cheer for Obama.

But Leslie says the Japanese goverment is giving MkCain a boost.

Because he is on the conservative side and he will push for remilitarization of Japan.

I wish I could have a election franchise in America.

Back to Ann Arbor

I've come back to Ann Arbor.

It took about 13hours by air. I was very tired.

Fortunately, I could have sleep in the airplane so I have no jet lag syndrome.

Hachi the faithful dog

Today I had a surgical board examination in Shinjuku.

After that, I met my friend and went to Shibuya.

My friend had never seen the statue of "Hachi the faithful dog" .

So we went to Shibuya to see it. I have seen it before but every time I think it is very small.


After visit this, we went to Shinjuku and had "Tonkatsu", the breaded pork cutlet. Though the pork was good but we tried to make it be with green tea.

That tasted terrible.

Shimokitazawa

I went to Shimokitazawa to visit my friend's house.

This is my first visitting to "Soba noodle restaurant KURIHARA"

Ryu's father is a Soba worker and he has a very smart restaurant.

It has a ceramic factory in the basement.

I met Ryu, Jin, Ryu's girl friend, Araki and Araki's boyfriend.

I had many delicious cuisine made of soba.

I had very good time.

Japan

I have just been back in Japan temporalily.

I have surgical board examination in Shinjuku on Sunday.

Though I didn't study so hard, I think I can do well.

A NEW PENPAL

I got a new penpal from New Zealand.

He is 63 year old male, and is teaching French in Auckland.

I hhave never been to Auckland, so I have searched about it on the internet.

I have found that it is a very beautiful city.

duty doctor

I have a night duty tonight.
But there is no Anesthesiologist tonight, I cannnot do emergency operations.

I''m now studying English listening. I am not good at listening English.

Anniversary of the establishment

Today is the anniversaly of the establishment.
So, despite the weekday, I have no routine work today.

I'm going to the post office and renew the account book.

Too high cost of calls

In this Autumn, I will visit Michigan again.
So, I want to use cell-phone on site.
I check many cell-phones on the internet but they are very expensive.
In addition, we can use only W-CDMA system, but most of the countries use GSM system.
So, I have to buy the machine accepting both of them.

The Smartphone from e-mobile

I have checked a smartphone that has been released by e-mobile.

It has many useful functions but we can use in very limited area .

So, I hesitate to buy it .
